W. Charles Akins High School PTSA
The Texas PTA states:
The PTA is a nonprofit, democratic, voluntary organization whose membership is open to persons who are concerned with the welfare of all children and youth and who are willing to uphold its basic policies, subscribe to its bylaws and fulfill the "Purpose of PTA".
High school students are eligible and strongly encouraged to join, so at the high school level, the S in Akins PTSA stands for Students. That's what the Akins PTSA is all about, standing up for all of the students at W. Charles Akins High School.
W. Charles Akins High School
Akins High School is located at 10701 South First Street
Austin, TX 78748.
The Akins PTSA usually meets in the library which is the second door on the right as you come into the main entrance.
Who are we - You!
Those eligible for membership are parents, teachers of Akins High students, and Students themselves! If you are parents whose students have graduated, Akins High alumni, or interested community members, you are welcome!
You can join the PSTA at anytime and don't have to commit a lot of your time, but members have a vote in how funds should be spent and what kind of goals the organization will pursue each year. Joining the PTSA does not obligate you to anything but paying dues of $10 per year but the privilege of voting comes with those dues.
